CHEICK SYLLA

Cheick Sylla est un photojournaliste ivoirien dont la carrière et le travail reflètent un profond engagement en faveur de la justice sociale et de la promotion de causes centrées sur l’humain. Formé à la production audiovisuelle à l’Institut des Sciences et Techniques de la Communication (ISTC) d’Abidjan, il met ses compétences et sa passion pour l’image au service de la défense des droits de l’homme et de la dignité.

Cheick Sylla is an Ivorian photojournalist whose career and work reflect a deep commitment to social justice and the promotion of human-centered causes. Trained in audiovisual production at the Institute of Communication Sciences and Techniques (ISTC) in Abidjan, he uses his skills and passion for imagery to defend human rights and dignity.

Pendant cinq ans, Cheick a collaboré avec l’organisation américaine Special Olympics, où il a utilisé la photographie pour capturer et partager l’impact positif du sport sur le développement des personnes souffrant de handicaps intellectuels. Ce travail lui a permis de sensibiliser le public aux bienfaits du sport et de lutter contre les stéréotypes à l’encontre de cette communauté.

Parallèlement, il a travaillé comme consultant pour la Fondation ATEF OMAÏS et pour des institutions internationales de premier plan telles que la Banque mondiale, la Banque asiatique d’investissement dans les infrastructures et la Banque africaine de développement. Il a également contribué à divers médias internationaux, dont The Guardian et The Globe and Mail, élargissant ainsi la portée internationale de ses engagements et de son travail artistique.

Le talent de Cheick a été reconnu dans plusieurs concours, notamment en 2019 dans le cadre d’un partenariat avec l’Union européenne. Son travail a été exposé dans des lieux prestigieux, notamment à l’Institut français d’Abidjan, à la Fondation Donwahi, à l’Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, ainsi que lors d’une exposition personnelle à l’Hôtel Tiama.

For five years, Cheick collaborated with the American organization Special Olympics, where he used photography to capture and share the positive impact of sport on the development of people with intellectual disabilities. This work enabled him to raise public awareness of the benefits of sport and combat stereotypes against this community.

At the same time, he worked as a consultant for the ATEF OMAÏS Foundation and for leading international institutions such as the World Bank, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and the African Development Bank. He has also contributed to various international media outlets, including The Guardian and The Globe and Mail, thereby expanding the international reach of his commitments and artistic work.
